Today was dedicated to getting to know the situation of the Congregation, which is situated in the midst of a world in profound transformation and thus with which we share the same contradictions, problems, hopes and expectations.
First of all, Sr. Anna Maria Parenzan presented our Institute’s journey over the last three years, from the 10th General Chapter up to today. Taking as her point of departure our statistical data with regard to persons, communities and personnel movement, she gave us an overall view of the steps taken to implement the Chapter’s working guidelines. The evaluations sent in by the circumscriptions revealed how these guidelines were adopted and translated into our spiritual, communitarian and apostolic life with great seriousness and commitment, supported by the valuable aids prepared by the General Government and by the Government’s Fraternal Visits to the communities.
The Interchapter Assembly took note of the progress made and the problems that affect important aspects of our life such as integral formation, study, vocation animation, the challenges of the new evangelization and apostolic collaboration on the continental level.
Sr. Anna’s Maria’s report gave us a global vision of the Congregation, which is on the move in spite of the inevitable fatigue involved, and it generated in us a more vibrant sense of belonging, solidarity and hope.
Sr. Gabriella Santon, Bursar General, then presented our economic situation within the framework of today’s financial-economic crisis, which challenges us to manage our material goods wisely and carefully. This interpretation of our economic data triggered in us the solicitude to cultivate an administration that accompanies our mission in the spirit of Pauline poverty.
Tomorrow we will continue to examine our situation with serenity and love. We feel close to you and supported by your prayers. Thank you for the many messages you have sent us via our website.
